Mrs. Hewitt’s Freezer Waffles

Making your own waffles lets you be in control of the flavors. Love chocolate chips? Get some mini-chips, or chop regular chocolate chips, and throw them in. Something else? Try it! Just make sure your add in is in small pieces because…mini waffles. Then all you need is a mini waffle iron (can get these cheap on Amazon), and you’re ready to go.
Make your mini waffles following directions on the bag (make sure to let the batter sit for 5-7 minutes after mixing), bake and then let them cool completely (I use a cooling rack to keep them from sweating), place them on a baking sheet in the freezer for about an hour, and store in a ziplock bag once they’re fully frozen. That’s it! When you’re ready, pop them in the toaster, like you would any freezer waffle, and enjoy!
One small bag of Mrs. Hewitt’s Pancake and Waffle Mix will make about 20-4” mini waffles (more or less depending on how much batter you use). That’s a bargain in comparison to store bought, with the added bonus of being in control of your batter and final product!!
